Full job description

We are looking for Recycling Operatives for production line separating recyclable items, responsible for picking various materials from a moving conveyor belt and placing them in the appropriate chutes or bins for further processing. Additional responsibilities include performing various duties throughout the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) as instructed by the Manager or Team Leader.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

• Hours : 7am to 17:00pm

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities:

• Picking materials at defined rates from a moving conveyor.
• Ensuring quality and recovery rates are maximized.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of operator cabins and the MRF.
• Performing operator-level maintenance on parts of the plant.
• Assisting with general duties throughout the MRF.
• Reporting all damages and breakdowns to the Team Leader, Shift Supervisor, and Account Manager.
• Staying at your workstation unless authorized by the Team Leader (e.g., for breaks or to visit the office).
• Adhering to all site health and safety rules and procedures
• Ensure that materials are properly disposed of in correct containers.
• General labour, including loading, unloading, and handling items from facility user’s vehicles as required.
• Ensure the premises and equipment are maintained and kept in a clean and serviceable condition.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail to accurately sort materials
• Ability to follow health and safety guidelines
• A good level of English communication
• Must be comfortable working in a partly exposed area in all weather conditions:
• Must be able to work well as part of a team.
• No experience required as full training is provided.
