Delivery Driver

Full job description

We are now looking for skilled Delivery Drivers to join our team in Slough.

You will be responsible for the efficient and safe transportation of our bakery products to different destinations. Your role will involve coordinating with our production, packing and dispatch departments, loading and unloading products, ensuring the quality and quantity of deliveries, and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate our 3.5t delivery van to transport bakery products to designated locations.
• Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and meet delivery schedules
• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of bakery items to customers
• Load and unload bakery products, ensuring proper handling to maintain product quality
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure roadworthiness
• Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing a positive representation of the bakery.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns courteously and promptly
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including receipts and invoices
• Report any discrepancies or issues with deliveries to the logistics team

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as Delivery Driver, ideally with multi- drop deliveries
• Experience in the transportation of perishable goods
• A fluent level of spoken English.
• A good collaborator with the skills to work with multiple and diverse teams
• A full UK driving license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• day shift
• early mornings

• Delivery driver: 2 years (preferred)
